Berlin-based producer Setaoc Mass is next to appear on Spencer Parker’s Work Them roster with four commanding techno numbers in ‘The M Scale’ EP. Real name Sam Coates, Setaoc Mass was born and raised in Manchester and now resides in Berlin where he’s appeared on the radar of fellow expat Spencer Parker…

Kicking off the EP is which Man Ray’ which kicks in with crunchy snares and a hypnotising riff, the next track ‘Movement’ unloads a viscous low-end alongside a metallic synth and ominous atmospherics.

First up on the B side is ‘Ulterior Motive’ which triggers the release by unleashing a torrent of cavernous kicks whilst tantalising melodies add to the escalating energy, before ‘Manifesto’ erupts with uncompromising arpeggios accompanied by infectious claps and subtle stabs until rounding off a fine EP from Setaoc Mass..
